PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-zinc-alloy-plated steel material which has superior corrosion resistance at a worked part, and can be manufactured in a high yield, with high efficiency, and at a low cost. SOLUTION: This aluminum-zinc-alloy-plated steel material has an aluminum-zinc-alloy-plated film containing aluminum of 25 to 70 mass% formed on the surface of a steel material. The steel material includes copper sulfide as a component, and the plated film contains copper sulfide. The aluminum-zinc-alloy-plated steel material can be easily manufactured by immersing a steel material containing copper sulfide in a plating bath to make copper sulfide elute from the steel material, and plating the steel material in a molten plating liquid containing the copper sulfide. The copper sulfide in the plated film functions as a solidification nucleus when the molten plating liquid is solidified, and thereby refines a spangle appearing on the plated film to improve corrosion resistance at the worked part.
