PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount an actuator with increased vibration resistance and durability on an engine body in a lift-variable valve gear of an internal combustion engine in which the actuator rotatingly driving a control shaft installed in a lift-variable mechanism comprises an electric motor, a speed reduction mechanism, a transmission mechanism interposed between the control shaft and the speed reduction mechanism, and a default mechanism and is mounted on the engine body. SOLUTION: The casing 59 of the actuator 60 is mounted on the engine body at multiple portions corresponding to the electric motor 62 and at a portion corresponding to at least one of the speed reduction mechanism 63, the transmission mechanism 64, and the default mechanism 65.
