PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic program guide receiving device capable of generating an electronic program guide with good readability. SOLUTION: A television receiver equipped with a television program guide receiving function of displaying a received television program guide in at least a partial area on a display in table form to a fixed size has an image information processing control section 512 which displays a cursor prompting a choice of one program to be made on the television program guide displayed on the display, a cell expansion section 515 which expands a cell of a selected program, and a cell compression section 516 which compresses cells of programs other than the program selected with the cursor according to the quantity of expansion of the cell expanded by the cell expansion section 515.
