The present invention relates to compositions and methods for reducing the likelihood that a woman will become pregnant or that an unwanted pregnancy may be terminated by administering an inhibitor of H-hCG or beta-H-hCG to said a woman at risk to become pregnant. Methods of enhancing the likelihood that a fertilized egg will successfully implant in a woman's endometrium and successfully be carried to term are additional aspects of the present invention.
