ANTIGEN AND MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY CAPABLE OF RECOGNIZING THE ANTIGEN

Discloses are a novel antigen which is confirmed to occur in a human myelocyte/monocyte cell, an acute myelogenous leukemia cell and a CD34<SUP>+</SUP> hematopoietic stem cell (HSCA-1 antigen) and a monoclonal antibody capable of recognizing the antigen. By using the antibody in a labeled form, the antigen can be determined readily by an immunoassay or flow cytometry. Thus, the antibody is applicable to the diagnosis of acute leukemia or the like. The antibody can also be used in the separation/purification or removal of a human myelocyte/monocyte cell, an acute myelogenous leukemia cell and a CD34<SUP>+</SUP> hematopoietic stem cell.
