A waiting service system and method during a video call are provided to improve the service quality of a video call by providing a call waiting screen of an external terminal on a display window of a reception terminal when the external terminal attempts a call to the reception terminal while the reception terminal is being connected for video call communication with an origination terminal. An origination side system(230) transmits a call connection and an image message for a video call in a mobile communication network. A termination side system(250) maintains the video call for the image message received through the mobile communication network, detects a call attempt by a connection requester during the video call and executes a call waiting service. An HLR(Home Location Register)(205) is provided between the origination side system(230) and the termination side system(250), tracks a location of a reception terminal(209), and notifies the termination side system(250) corresponding to the location tracking about a call attempt state of an external terminal(211) corresponding to the connection requester. |
