A PIP television receiver having an automatic sub-screen output function during reception of a teletext is provided to automatically output a video signal sound of a channel same as a main screen or a preset channel to a sub-screen when a teletext function is received on a broadcasting signal displayed on a main screen, thereby automatically making simultaneous watching of the broadcasting signal and teletext signal possible without operation of a user. A PIP(Picture In Picture) television receiver having an automatic sub-screen output function during reception of a teletext comprises the followings: the first tuner(11); the second turner(12); a main/sub screen switch(13); a sub-screen display controller(19); a sound processor(22); a sound switch(21); an RF/TXT(Radio Frequency/Teletext) switch(14) for performing a switching process after determining whether a video signal of a main screen(15), outputted from the first tuner(11), is a general broadcasting signal(RF) or a teletext data signal; and a controller(17) which is respectively connected to the main/sub screen switch(13), RF/TXT switch(14) and the sound switch(21), and switches the sound switch(21) to a sub-screen(16) when the video signal applied to the main screen(15) through the main/sub screen switch(13) and the RF/TXT switch(14) is selected as the teletext, and then controls a voice signal of the sub-screen(16) so as to be automatically outputted through the sound processor(22).
