PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a prepreg capable of producing a laminated sheet that has equivalent performance, using no organic solvent substantially, to a conventional laminated sheet produced using an organic solvent. SOLUTION: The method for producing prepreg that includes a fiber base material and a thermally curable resin supported on the fiber base material has the following steps: the step where the thermally curable resin and an emulsifier are melted and mixed, the step where the first water is added and they are stirred, the step where the second water is added and stirred for mixing, and the resultant aqueous emulsion is supported on the fiber base material thereby the prepreg is produced. Preferably, the amount of first water is 25 to 50 wt.% based on the amount of the resin, while the amount of second water is 55 to 100 wt.% on the basis of the total amount of the first and the second water.
