PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which ink is filled in an ink feeding chamber while not used, and which can prevent the ink from flowing out from the ink feeding chamber. SOLUTION: An expansible contractible valve element 60 is set at an ink supplying port 61. An ink feeding needle fitting hole 62 in which an ink feeding needle 70 is fitted is formed at a lower part. A communication hole 64 is bored which connects the ink feeding chamber 63 and the ink feeding needle fitting hole 62 with each other when the valve element moves to an upper limit position. When not used, the valve element comes into elastic contact with a bottom part 63a of the ink feeding chamber 63 by an elasticity as shown in (A) in the figure, surely preventing the ink from flowing out from the ink feeding chamber 63. When the ink feeding needle is inserted in the fitting hole, the valve element elongates to the upper limit position as shown in (B) in the figure and separates from the bottom face 63a of the ink feeding chamber, whereby the communication hole is exposed to the ink feeding chamber.
