PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor capable of efficiently manufacturing a coil former type electric double layer capacitor at a low cost, that is, an electrode structure containing an external terminal for a vessel can be formed simply and a wound body can also be formed efficiently, regarding the coil former type electric double layer capacitor and a manufacturing method for the electric double layer capacitor. SOLUTION: A mandrel 25 for a winding is fitted in the wound body 10. The mandrel 25 is composed of a pair of electrodes 26a and 26b and an intermediate section 27 insulating these electrodes.
