PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for extending on-time period of a switch so as to adjust an energy transfer from the input of a power supply to the output of the power supply. SOLUTION: One illustrative integrated circuit includes energy transfer elements coupled between an input and an output of a power supply. A switch is coupled to the input of the energy transfer elements. A controller is coupled to the switch, and controls a switching of the switch so as to adjust an energy transfer form the input of the power supply to the output of the power supply in response to a feedback received from the output of a power supply. The controller limits a maximum on-time period of the switch to a first maximum on-time period in response to the range of a first operating conditions of power supply, and is coupled so as to limit to a second maximum on-time period with respect to a second range of operating condition of power supply.
