PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and a method for separating booklets which enable reliable and quick detection of a boundary position of a unit booklet even when the size of the booklet and the total number of booklets of an aggregate thereof are large, and enable preparation of the booklets of good quality. SOLUTION: With the relative movement of the aggregate A of the booklets, a wedge 14 made black gets over a projecting part and thereby a sensor 13 detects the projecting part. Next, the wedge 14 is put under the page (the boundary position) where the projecting part is provided so as to make an aperture in the aggregate A of the booklets. Moreover a knife is inserted into the aperture made by the wedge 14 and is moved along a back pasted part Ad, so as to cut off a back paste. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
