<p>A packet transmitter for transmitting a widely used packet such as an IP packet containing a content protected by a content protection technique such as DTCP and providing various EPG information. Using the metadata in an AV stream, the output mode, encryption mode encrypted information header addition of a content including video, audio, and data contained in the AV stream are controlled (407). With this, interconnection compatibility between the packet transmitter and receiver is ensured while keeping the secrecy (414). When the received content of a digital television broadcast is used as an AV stream, a channel is selected from the received full-transport stream (409), and thereby the partial transport stream is extracted and constructed (410). EPG information can be selected not only from the SI information contained in the digital broadcast signal but also from information sources such as the EPG dedicated channel and the Internet (412).</p> |
