A method and an apparatus for managing call messages of a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to check and recognize a portion or the whole of a previous call with the same person from a current screen on which a call is being received, and perform call communication when the call is received from the person. When an incoming call or an outgoing call is terminated(S101), a mobile terminal stores a call record including at least one of information on the incoming call or the outgoing call, a call date and a call time by phone number and forms a call record database(S103). The mobile terminal selects or receives a phone number by a user and receives a request of a call record corresponding to the phone number(S105). The mobile terminal reads call records corresponding to the selected or inputted phone number from the call record database and sequentially outputs them on a screen(S107). The mobile terminal is requested to provide a message input screen image for inputting a certain message corresponding to one selected by the user from the call records(S108). The mobile terminal outputs the message input screen image and receives a certain message from the user(S109). When the mobile terminal receives a user instruction to store the message, the mobile terminal stores the message by connecting it with the call record to thus update the call record(S110).
