A method of charging a charger for a compact chargable battery is provided to reproduce the performance of a battery by repeating discharge and charge of the battery if the battery is deteriorated. It is determined whether a voltage of a battery to be charged is a charge initial voltage and is lower than a charge target voltage. If it is determined that the voltage is between the voltages, a microprocessor(5) applies an output signal to an output voltage adjusting unit(2) to supply the power to a battery charging unit(4). If a detected voltage value is higher than a varied reference voltage value, the microprocessor increases the varied reference voltage value by 1 digit value. If resetting of the reference voltage value is repeated twice or more, a time which is 2 to 6 times of a difference value between a set time and a previous time is set as a charge termination time. If the resetting of the reference voltage value is again repeated, the charge termination time is reset. When the charge termination time is passed, the power supply is interrupted by applying an off signal to the output switch.
