PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber with optical element where the optical element which receives an optical signal from the optical fiber to convert it to an electric signal or converts an electric signal to an optical signal to emit it to the optical fiber is fitted to the end face of the optical fiber, wherein optical axes can be easily aligned at a low cost for sticking the optical element to the end face of the optical fiber; and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The optical element 2 is stuck to an adhesive 3 deposited on a fiber end face 11, so that the center of the optical element 2 is aligned with the center of the optical fiber 1 through the surface tension of this adhesive 3.
