PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a smooth motion parallax near the center of a two-dimensional image display device without having to increase the size of a composite image to be displayed, and also to realize a smooth motion parallax in the other parts of the two-dimensional image display device. SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device 1 includes a directional image accumulation section 11 accumulating directional images of a display target observed from a plurality of view points; a composite image forming section 12 that forms a composite image, based on the plurality of directional images; a composite image display section 13 that displays the composite image; and a directionality determining section 14, with which the directional images composing the composite image displayed on the composite image display section 12 are projected in the directions of the view points, from which the directional images are observed. Control is exerted so that the densities of the directional images projected in the vicinity of the center of the composite image display section 12 are higher than the densities of the directional images projected to the other parts of the composite image display section 12.
