PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active energy ray-curable coating composition imparting an inorganic film excellent in appearance, transparency, adhesion to a substrate, scratch resistance, wear resistance, in a short time, and to provide a method for forming a protective film by using the composition and to provide a laminated material. SOLUTION: The active energy ray-curable coating composition comprises (A) a condensate of at least one of an alkylsilicate represented by general formula (1) and an organosilane represented by general formula 2 and colloidal silica with 5-200nm of particle diameter, and (B) active energy ray-sensitive acid generator.
