PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent for hard surface suitable as a detergent for tableware, utensils of kitchen area, etc. SOLUTION: The detergent for hard surface contains (a) 2.5-8 mass% one or more polybasic carboxylic acids (salts) having a molecular weight of 90-500, (b) 2-60 mass% mixture containing a surfactant having an 8-18C hydrocarbon group wherein 20-70 mol% of the hydrocarbon group has a branched structure, and water and has a pH of >3 and <7 at 20°C.
