PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene derivative for forming a new phosphor material, especially for forming a wide-gaped electron-transporting layer suitable for a blue-colored phosphor material, and a new organic electroluminescent element using the same. SOLUTION: This 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene derivative having phenyl groups substituted by an electron-withdrawing heteroarylic group, and a group selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, an aryl and the electron-withdrawing heteroarylic group is provided with that each of the benzene rings may be substituted with a group selected each independently from a group consisting of a 1-6C straight chain or branched alkyl, a 1-6C straight chain or branched alkoxy or alkenyl, a 1-6C straight chain or branched alkylsilyl, a 1-6C straight chain or branched mono- or di-alkylamino, and a mono- or di-arylamino group (these aryl groups may have a substituent) having 1-4 number of rings.
