The method involves comparing actual voltage values of measuring electrodes (4a, 4b) with assigned preceding voltage values during the operation of a flow meter to eliminate uneven interference voltages. A measurement for signal processing is enabled when a uniform proportional change of the values is established in the result of the comparison with the electrodes, which is evaluated as trouble free measurement. An independent claim is also included for a device for recognizing physical chemical conditions of measuring electrodes of a flow meter.
