<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of noise, when using a cylindrical body of thin wall as a latent image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: A damping member 33, fitted inside a photoreceptor drum 25, has a cylindrical shape, whose one side end is closed by an end surface 33a. An assembling jig 41 is inserted into the cylinder of the damping member to press the end surface 33a, and the damping member 33 is pushed into the drum. The damping member 33 can be fitted easily in the photoreceptor drum 25 of the damping member 33.
