<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for attaining further miniaturization while having a configuration for easily exchanging a fixing unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms a unit cover 173 and a sheet discharge tray 152 so that the unit cover 173 being an outer shell of the fixing unit 170 and a tray member 154 configuring the lowermost part of a recess formed on the sheet discharge tray 152 are integrally configured in the state where the fixing unit 170 is arranged downward of the sheet discharge tray 152. When taking out the fixing unit 170 from a casing 102, the sheet discharge tray 152 is not obstructive when taking out the fixing unit 170 since the tray member 154 and the fixing unit 170 are simultaneously taken out.
