<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane capable of preventing a flooding state by effectively discharging surplus produced water to the exit side in power generation, in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: This electrolyte membrane 10 is formed into an inclined structure, where membrane thickness is gradually changed so as to make one-side surface thereof become an inclined surface. This membrane-electrode assembly 5a is made, by using the electrolyte membrane 10, and the polymer electrolyte fuel cell 6a is manufactured by sandwiching the membrane-electrode assembly 5a between separators 4a and 4b, by positioning the side having larger thickness and the side having smaller thickness, on the gas entrance side on the cathode side and on the exit side, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
