<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain corrosion of a metal material in a part in a cell of a fuel cell where water is easily accumulated and hardly drained. <P>SOLUTION: This electrolyte membrane/electrode stack 2 is provided with: support frames 7 jointed to a circumferential annular part of a reaction area 4A of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 4 from both its surfaces; reinforcing members 8 which are jointed, by covering the support frames 7, to them from both the surfaces and formed of a metal material and to which gaskets 9 arranged between separators 3 and themselves are brought into contact or jointed; and gas diffusion layers 6 stacked by covering the reaction area 4A of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 4. The electrolyte membrane/electrode stack is also provided, between the circumferential parts of the gas diffusion layers 6 and the reinforce members 8, with barrier means against permeation of droplets, for instance, wall-like members 7A surrounding the gas diffusion layers 6 from the outer peripheries thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
