PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker capable of producing sounds of shear waves by directly transmitting vibrations into a diaphragm. SOLUTION: The speaker is equipped with the diaphragm 1 to which stress is applied and a driver 2 which applies vibrations to the diaphragm 1. The driver 2 is connected to one side of the diaphragm 1 and applies the vibrations to a plate surface of the diaphragm 1 in parallel. The vibrations are transmitted directly into the diaphragm 1 to which stress is applied and then the diaphragm 1 producing shear waves having power corresponding to the applied stress.
