PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the power supply device for turning on many light emitting diodes, which can attain a tendency to make substantial miniaturization, can attain a tendency to substantially decrease a size of a lighting system by decreasing heat when voltage is converted, can substantially decrease a number of series resistors becoming a heat generation source of the light emitting diode as compared with the conventional system, can improve electric power efficiency, and can decrease a rise of operating atmospheric temperature of the light emitting diode. SOLUTION: The power supply device for turning on many series connected light emitting diodes through a current limiting circuit comprising an electronic circuit with a semiconductor used is constituted from an electric power source with commercial AC power directly rectified. The power supply device for supplying a current to the many series connected light emitting diodes through a current limiting circuit corresponding to a plurality of the series connected light emitting diodes is constituted further from an electric power source provided according to necessity with a voltage doubler rectifier circuit, a voltage tripler rectifier circuit, and a voltage quadrupler rectifier circuit corresponding to a number of the many light emitting diodes connecting in series the commercial AC power.
