PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an error rate by reducing the risk that a likelihood path is not left for the entire page data in a viterbi decoding device for viterbi-decoding the 2-dimensional reproducing signal of the page data. SOLUTION: The viterbi decoding device 12 is provided with a 2-dimensional viterbi decoding circuit 4 for viterbi-decoding the sum of errors of reproducing signals with respect to a plurality of imagined signal values imagined in transition as the branch metric of the transition based on the transition of a trellis state regarding a plurality of rows including a decoding target row in the page data, and a decoding bit row output circuit 5 for outputting only a decoding bit line corresponding to the decoding target row as a decoding result among paths left as a result of viterbi decoding.
