PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve mechanism using an actuator with favorable efficiency and high reliability. SOLUTION: In the electromagnetic actuator 3 being a self holding type actuator, by forming a collar part 26 in a one end side of a movable shaft 1, and arranging a permanent magnet 36 in an outer side of the collar part 36, it is formed such that the movable shaft 21 is attracted in a protruding direction or a withdrawing direction by magnetic force of the permanent magnet 36. In the valve mechanism 1, a passage is opened and closed by reciprocating a valve element 6 in both directions along its axial direction by the electromagnetic actuator 3.
