PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic buffer free from delay in generation of damping force while securing its basic length. SOLUTION: This pneumatic buffer comprises a cylinder 1 comprising an operating chamber A, a main piston 21 slidably inserted into the cylinder 1 and connected with a rod 3, a sub-piston 22 connected with the rod 3 at a prescribed interval with respect to the main piston 21, a chamber R2 formed by sectioning the operating chamber A by the main piston 21 at one end side of the cylinder 1, the other chamber R1 formed by sectioning the operating chamber A by the sub-piston 22 at the other end side of the cylinder 1, and a flow channel 31 communicating the chamber R2 and the chamber R1 for applying resistance to the flow of fluid.
