PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pulsation noise and stabilize performance in a small suction muffler. SOLUTION: A muffling space inner opening end 154 of a communication pipe 150 of the suction muffler 140 and a muffling space inner opening end 158 of a tail pipe 152 are opened closely at positions separate from a center in a longitudinal direction of a muffling space 142 in a same direction. Anti-resonance frequency 171 is created in muffling characteristics of the suction muffler 140 and is made coincide with air-column resonance frequency 162 of a space 141 in a hermetic vessel. Consequently, pulsation noise is effectively reduced and separation action of oil 102 from refrigerant gas 200 is facilitated to stabilize performance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
