PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the cleaning performance by a rotary cleaning body and improve the traveling performance of a suction port body irrelevant to the types of a surface to be cleaned. SOLUTION: This suction port body 9 for a vacuum cleaner is provided with a rotary cleaning body 24 rotatably journaled to the front lower part of a case body 11, a drive unit 27 driving the rotary cleaning body 24, and a wheel support part 61 having a height adjusting mechanism 60 vertically turning the rear part around the front lower part of the case body 11 and capable retaining it at a plurality of parts, and traveling wheels 63 rotatably attached to the wheel support part 61. In the cleaning work, the rear part is turned around the front lower part of the case body 11 to change the interval between the surface F to be cleaned and the suction port 25, is retained by the height adjusting mechanism 60 and is moved by the traveling wheels 63.
