PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the cleaning device for a chill roller which can prolong the cyclic interval of replacement of a cleaning cloth or the like by simply controlling a cleaning roller. SOLUTION: The cleaning device for the chill roller is equipped with a dryer 3 for drying a web W printed with a printing unit 1, a cooling device 4 equipped with chill rollers 6a-6d for cooling the web dried with the dryer, a cleaning apparatus 12 having a cleaning roller 14 wound with a sleeve 14a for cleaning the peripheral surface of the chill roller by bringing an opposingly contact with the peripheral surface of the chill roller, and a counter 57 for counting the total cleaning time of the cleaning roller with respect to the chill roller. Further, a cleaning roller controlling part 40 for controlling a motor 36 for driving the rotation of the cleaning roller so as to reverse the inclining direction of the sleeve wound around the cleaning roller based on the total cleaning time of the cleaning roller is also equipped.
