Controlled by relying on an operating condition of an internal combustion engine (ICE) (13), heat currents (HC) between oil, exhaust gas (EG) and a cooling medium (16) are switched by relying on need. When engine load (EL) is low, EG is returned to the ICE uncooled. When EL is high, EG is cooled at maximum cooling. HC from EG is returned to ICE oil at low EL/low oil temperature. An independent claim is also included for a heat-exchanger device in a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine. |
