A microscope system has an image recording system (10) for detecting the object image. At least one compensation filter (9) can be switched into the beam-path leading to the image recording system (10) where the compensation filter (9) effects an optimally uniform continuity of light intensity at least over the surface of the image zone detected by the image recording system, as long as no object is in the beam path of the microscope (1). An independent claim is included for a method for image detection with microscope system.
