<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cr-containing sintered compact having improved wear resistance and chipping resistance owing to its high hardness, high strength, high toughness, and excellent fused deposit resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The Cr-containing sintered compact comprises a complex compound represented by compositional formula: (Cr<SB>1-a</SB>M<SB>a</SB>)(N<SB>1-x-y</SB>C<SB>x</SB>O<SB>y</SB>)<SB>z</SB>[wherein M is at least one kind among Ti, V, Nb, and Ta; a is an atomic ratio of M/(Cr+M); x is an atomic ratio of C/(N+C+O); y is an atomic ratio of O/(N+C+O); and z is an atomic ratio of (N+C+O)/(Cr+M)], where a, x, y, and z satisfy 0.3≤a≤0.8, 0≤x≤0.3, 0≤y≤0.1, and 0.7≤z≤1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
