PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of preventing concentration of local heat radiation through reduction of the number of light-emitting diodes and saving of manufacturing cost, and also to provide a display device equipped with the same.

SOLUTION: The light-emitting device includes a circuit board, and a light source unit: containing a first point light source group constituted of two or more point light sources separated at a first interval; and a second point light source group containing point light sources arranged to be separated at a second interval wider than the first from a virtual line connecting the light sources of the first point light source group. The virtual line connecting the point light sources of the first point light source group is constituted so as to cross that connecting the point light sources of the second point light source group.
