PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus and method for packetizing audio data and auxiliary data adapted to HDMI. SOLUTION: The transmission system includes a register set circuit that may be configured to store video formation information and a transmission enable signal state; a data packet circuit that is configured to generate a first signal, packetize the auxiliary data in response to the transmission enable signal, and output packet data in response to a control signal; and a control signal generator that is configured to output the control signal, in response to the video formation information from the register set circuit and the first signal from the data packet circuit, wherein audio/auxiliary data packetization is carried out, in accordance with HDMI agreements.
