A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF MELIAE CORTEX FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING ALLERGIC DISEASE

An extract of Meliae Cortex is provided to be able to inhibit mast cells' secretion of allergy inducing materials, thereby being usefully used as medicines or health functional foods capable of treating fundamental causes of allergy without toxicity and side effects. The method for preparing an extract of Meliae Cortex having allergic effect by preventing the secretion of allergy inducing materials comprises the steps of: (a) washing Meliae Cortex with distilled water and then crushing it with a crusher; (b) heating the crushed Meliae Cortex in hot water at a temperature of 100-120 deg.C for 2-3 hours to obtain the extract of Meliae Cortex; (c) filtering the extract of the Meliae Cortex to obtain supernatant and then concentrating it; and (d) free-drying the Meliae Cortex concentrate to obtain a concentrate powder.
