A shift register is provided to prevent pull-up and pull-down switching elements from outputting multiple outputs by setting a voltage, which is supplied to a source terminal of a pull-down transistor, to be different from a discharge voltage. A shift register includes plural stages, which sequentially output scan pulses for driving gate lines of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. Each of the stages includes a node controller(300a), a pull-up switching element(Tru), and a pull-down switching element(Trd). The node controller includes first and second nodes, selectively outputs first and second source voltages to the first and second nodes, and charges or discharges the first and second nodes. The pull-up switching element outputs an input pulse to the gate line as a scan pulse according to the charged state of the first node. The pull-down switching element outputs a third source voltage to the gate line according to the charged state of the second node.
