<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus and a method in which output conditions can be altered during the execution of output processing. <P>SOLUTION: When an interruption key is depressed during the execution of output processing (S17: YES), document feeding is interrupted (S18) and the alteration of output conditions is received (S19). When a decision is made that the output conditions are altered (S20: YES), a conveyance way is switched (S21) and the document feed is resumed (S22).
