<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper lever of an upright piano capable of enhancing damping performance, thereby enhancing continuous hit performance characteristics without affecting the touch feel of a key. <P>SOLUTION: The damper lever 32 of the upright piano stops the vibration of a vibrating string S as the key 2a is detached to damp the sound generated by the vibration of the string S.
