MILLIMETER WAVE GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a millimeter wave generator capable of generating a finer millimeter wave in a high frequency region of≥1 THz. SOLUTION: The millimeter wave generator is provided with: an optical waveguide 101 which propagates a composite wave of two light rays of wavelengthλ1 and wavelengthλ2; and a millimeter wave generating medium 104 having a fine particulate shape which is disposed on the light emission edge of the optical waveguide 101 so as to be aligned with a center part of a core 102 of the optical waveguide. The millimeter wave generating medium 104 is composed of at least one of a semiconductor doped with an impurity from which electrons are emitted and a metal oxide incorporated with a substance from which electrons are emitted.
