PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for improving user's convenience, by extracting a specific facility used for specifying one's own vehicle position when the vehicle travels on an outward road and by guiding it to the specific facility extracted on the outward road when the vehicle travels on a homeward road. SOLUTION: The navigation system associates a homeward road candidate number as well as the link numbers of one or more links with each other and registers (S14, S15) it as a homeward road candidate on a homeward road candidate table 23 when the vehicle travels via a highway on the outward road from a starting point to a destination, then determines (S24, S25) whether each link of the homeward road candidate registered on the homeward road candidate table 23 is suitable for route guidance in descending order of high priority when the vehicle travels on the homeward road from the destination, and retrieves and guides (S4, S5) the route to the homeward road candidate determined to be suitable.
