PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery display device and method which reduces trouble given to a driver and is capable of displaying a picture which the driver desires, so that it is easy to see. SOLUTION: A vehicle periphery display device 1 determines a vehicle body part supposed to hardly interfere with obstacles, on the basis of a detected wheel steering state and causes parts where the determined vehicle part is images, of front and rear pictures to disappear.
