PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of stabilizing radiation noise and an image forming apparatus equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The image reader is equipped with a lens unit 104 which images reflected light from a document, a CCD 101 which reads the image formed by the lens unit 104, a base frame 105 which holds the lens unit 104 and CCD 101, an image reader control board which controls the whole reader, a flat cable 103 which connects the CCD 101 and image reader control board to each other, and a restriction member 110 which restricts the flat cable 103.
