PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow velocity measuring device that can apply a measurable stress by providing a fine displacement and can measure a flow velocity at high precision by offsetting influence of a hydrostatic pressure (or atmospheric pressure) and correcting an influence of a temperature. SOLUTION: The flow velocity measuring device includes an FBG (fiber Bragg grating) that detects stress to which a load is applied a load mechanism that applies the stress to the FBG, an airtight chamber that has a diaphragm at a side to which the stress is applied and houses the FBG and the load mechanism, and a pressure receiver that receives the stress from the outside and transmits the stress from the outside via the diaphragm.
