PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently make DMA transfer of recording data stored in a print buffer to a recording head. SOLUTION: In the process of transferring data to the recording head on the basis of a window signal which determines whether recording data in a prescribed position is present or not, the device transfers data for a prescribed number of columns on the basis of the timing that makes the window signal effective.
