PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode having excellent etching properties where, regarding the production of an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode in which, after the completion of cold rolling and before final annealing, heating in an oxidizing atmosphere is performed, the problem that, since the contents of Pb and Cu are not examined, the etching properties of the aluminum material after the final annealing are insufficient is solved, to provide an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode, to provide a method for producing an electrode material for an electrolytic capacitor, and also to provide an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: In the production of the aluminum material for the electrolytic capacitor electrode where hot rolling, cold rolling, method annealing, finish cold rolling and final annealing are successively performed, the content of Pb in the aluminum material is controlled to 0.3 to 2.5 mass ppm, the method annealing is performed in an oxidizing atmosphere, and the aluminum material, after the completion of the cold rolling and before the final annealing, is heated in an oxidizing atmosphere.
