The measuring device has measuring head in which sensor membranes (11A,11B,11C), with different pH value dependent light reflection characteristics, are so arranged that sensor membranes can be brought into measuring contact with the sensor. The evaluation device is provide for evaluating the reflected light, which is reflected by the different sensor membranes, for each individual sensor membrane. The resulting reflection intensity and the correlated pH is determined.. An independent claim is also included for the procedure of the pH value measurement of sample.
